KOH TARUTAO NATIONAL PARK

         Located in Satun province about 973 kilometers South of Bangkok. It is famous for its magnificent colorful  soft and hard coral and long white-sand beaches of Tarutao, Adang, Lipe and Rawi islands.

Tarutao National Park was declared Thailand's first national marine park in 1974 and reserves by UNESCO in 1982. It consists of 51 islands. Koh Tarutao is the biggest island in the Tarutao National Park which most popular for tourists who would like to have vacation in Thailand.

How to get there?
Getting to Tarutao island is easy, starting with a flight to Hat Yai and take about 2 hours by Van to Pakbara port and then by speed Boat directly to Tarutao Island. Pakbara port ToTarutao Island everyday at 10:30am-2pm.
Back to mainland has two boat starting at 9am- 2pm.

It is located 150 kilometers from north of Bangkok. It has an interesting historical monuments and national museum with lots of archaeological facts.

Lopburi had its greatest days during the Ayutthaya period, when King Narai the Great made the city his second capital. A lot of diplomatic activity with western nations took place at Lopburi during that time.
Prior to the Ayutthaya period, Lopburi was a provincial capital of the Khmer empire, and this is reflected in statues and architecture.

The city nowadays is currently known as monkey colonies. They are present by the hundreds at Phra Prang Sam Yod, probably ruining the monument in the process. Phra Sri Mahathat is located on a large compound, housing many chedis and smaller prangs.

How to get there:

By Bus
From Bangkok: Air-conditioned coaches and non air-conditioned buses leave Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal) every 20 minutes from 5.30 a.m. until 8.30 p.m. The ticket costs 62 bahts (ordinary bus) and 85 baths (air-conditioned). The journey takes 3 hours.

From Ayutthaya: There are buses that leave every 10 minutes from Ayutthaya Bus Terminal to Lop Buri. The price is half of the fare from Bangkok.

By Car
From Bangkok: The trip from Bangkok to Lop Buri by car may take up to 2 hours. It is possible to either drive along Highway No.1 via Saraburi (total distance is 153 kilometers), or use Highway No.32 via Ayutthaya, and travel further along Highway No.347 to Lop Buri via Tha Ruea District.
By Train
From Bangkok: Ordinary northern-route (Bangkok-Chiang Mai) trains leave Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Railway Station at 7.05 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. Both are third class only. Rapid trains leave the station 5 times a day (Travel time is 2.5 hrs.)
From Ayutthaya: regular 3rd class trains depart Ayutthaya to Lop Buri. Travel time is 1 hour.

 Jomtien Beach is located about 2 kilometers from
south Pattaya. This beach is very popular for swimming, water sports
and activities. Jomtien Beach has white sand. And it has a long straight coastline.
Along the straight beach road there are so many souvenir shops, restaurants, food stalls, and good
sea food restaurants are available, especially at almost the far end of the beach road.

 
 How to get there:
Jomtien Beach can be reached by express bus, taxi or limousine service from Bangkok. From Bangkok Airport to Jomtien beach is about 90 minutes. from central Bangkok buses leave at regular intervals, journey time about 2 hours. Although most visitors travel through Bangkok to reach Jomtien Beach there are also flights from the Pattaya and Jomtien Beach area from Utapao Airport direct to Koh Samui and Phuket.

Bangkok is the capital City of Thailand. It is also known as "Krungthep" [กรุงเทพ] meaning “the City of Angels”. It is ranked as the best city in the world in 2008 by "Travel and Leisure Magazine".

Bangkok is famous for its temples, the Grand Palace as well as some of Asia's largest shopping centers and Asia's largest outdoor week-end market (Chatuchak). All areas in central Bangkok can be easily reached by Skytrain (BTS) or Underground Train (MRT).

Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in Northern Thailand. It is the capital of the Province. It is located 700 km (435 mi) north of Bangkok, and it is among the highest mountains in the country. Chiang Mai is situated on the banks of the Ping River. It was founded by King Mengrai in 1296 AD. Chiang Mai is very famous for orchids, elephant training camps and handicrafts including lacquer ware, celadon, silk, umbrellas and woodcarvings. Chiang Mai is also the main center for hill tribe trekking and river rafting. The most captivating place in Chiang Mai is the Night Bazaar where one can look out for interesting bargains.
These are the major tourist attractions of Chiang Mai:

1. Wat Phra Sing
It is located on Sam Lan Road, Wat Phra Sing was built somewhere around 1345 AD. The temple premises contain the Lai Kham Chapel adorned with stupendously carved with wood and northern style murals and an outstanding storehouse of scriptures with a prominent sculptural relief. Wat Phra Sing is one of the important centers where Songkran Festivals are held every year from the 13th to 15th April. The ritual bathing ceremony of the venerated Phra Phutthasihing Buddha image takes place.
2. Wat Suan Dok
Placed amidst a 14th century AD pleasure gardens of the Lanna Thai monarch on the Suthep Road, Wat Suan Dok is famous because many of the white chedis or pagodas contain ashes of Chiang Mai's former royal family. Within a secondary chapel is enshrined a 500 year old Buddha image made of Bronze, which is the largest metal image in Thailand.


 

3. Wat Chiang Man
 It is located on Ratchapkkhinai Road, is Chiang Mai's oldest temple Wat Chiang Man, which can be dated back to 1296 AD. The temple significant for a chedi supported by a series of giant bolsters and a small image of Buddha, Phra Kaeo Khao was the residence of King Mengrai, founder of Chiang Mai.
4. Wat Chedi Luang
It is located on Phra Pokklao Road, Wat Chedi Luang. It is known for a colossal pagoda, originally measuring 280 ft in height. The pagoda was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545 AD. The temple once enshrined the image of the Emerald Buddha, which is now enshrined at Wat Phra Kaeo in Bangkok. The most striking architectural feature of the temple is the splendid Naga or the serpent staircase, which adds to the beauty of the front portico of the chapel.
